Tips to generate higher engagement levels on Facebook
Own a Facebook page? Have a community of audience to engage on Facebook? Here are five ways to better the engagement levels on your Facebook community page.
- 1. Ask Questions:
Asking questions is a great way to start a conversation with your audience or spark off a debate among the audience. The questions can range from a range of variety of types, from a simple Yes/No question to direct, specific, or even experience based questions.
2. Make the length of the update as short as possible:
Short and crisp posts give you a better response from people than long posts. Engagement levels do vary a lot for the short posts as well, but research shows that posts with less than 100 characters catch the user’s eyes more than the longer ones and there’s a better chance that the audience will engage with the page.
3. Identify the time where the engagement is highest
It is important to identify the ideal time to engage with the fans of your page; to ensure that the engagement levels remain high. A study by bit.ly shows that engagement levels are the highest between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
According to socialexaminer.com, links posted between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. get the highest click-through rates, with Wednesday, 3:00 p.m., being the best time to post in all week. Links posted before 8:00 a.m. and after 8:00 p.m. are less likely to get shared.
According to a study done by Buddy Media, engagement rates are 18% higher on Thursdays and Fridays than other days of the week.
4. Post pictures
Have you heard the old saying, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words?’ Research shows that pictures on an average give you more interaction rates than a plain text post.
5. Run contests
Everyone loves to win a thing or two; especially from a brand they follow and adore. Facebook contests is a great way to engage the audience and give them gifts in return for participation; to make sure members on the page keep sharing conversations with the brand.
